Tout premier coffret de luxe de 8 CD, contenant des éditions augmentées des albums précieux que l'emblématique Nina Simone a enregistrés pour Colpix Records de 1959 à 1963, qui a constitué la base même de la portée mondiale qu'elle a atteint en tant qu'artiste influente au cours des décennies qui ont suivi. Avec un nombre impressionnant de 107 titres couvrant plus de sept heures de musique, augmenté de 29 titres bonus composés de montages uniques, des faces non LP et une multitude dautres documents trouvés dans les coffres-forts de bandes Colpix dans le début des années 2000. Plus une gamme étonnante de matériel divers, allant des chansons aux flambeaux « You Can Have Him » et « The Other Woman » au « Children Go Where I Send You » au goût gospel, et un plus tard version du premier hit américain de 1958 de Nina, « I Loves You Porgy », avec elle de manière indélébile version distinctive des chansons folk « Cotton Eyed Joe », « Little Liza Jane » et « Black Is The Color » Des cheveux de mon véritable amour ». Avec une remasterisation stellaire de Nick Robbins et une conception artistique exemplaire de Tony Hodsoll, cette réédition essentielle des premiers enregistrements éclectiques de Nina Simone présente un essai personnel d'Aaron Overfield (son archiviste officiel), commentaire dun célèbre producteur de films la conteuse Nia Hill (librettiste de lopéra LAbsurde de Nina Simone) et de nombreuses notes de David Nathan, historien et producteur de réédition de SoulMusic Records, qui a fondé le premier groupe britannique Société dappréciation pour Nina Simone en 1965.
